Combining
photography with digital composition and
editing, Kelly's "paintings" convey a unique glimpse into the many
varied
facets of our world, both natural and man-made, real or imagined. He
enhances
existing colours and emphasizes textures to increase the visual and
emotional
impact.
His main love is wildlife and nature art, but he also enjoys compositions which involve architectural imagery. Stone, steel, concrete and glass can create curious contrasts of colour and texture, light and shadow. He especially enjoys showing the contrasts and similarities when the man-made meets the natural. Kelly does his
own photography and scans, edits and composes
his "paintings" on his Macintosh computer, then prints the high
resolution
images on hot pressed watercolour paper. He lives in Centennial,
Colorado with
his
wife, Denise. A lifelong artist, and a wildlife advocate, Kelly
donates a portion of all sales of his wildlife art to animal
conservation
organizations.
