Private detective Patrick Roseman is seeing his life flash before his eyes. It’s a bit premature, though, since he’s not dying. Still, he keeps seeing a haunting, cinematic replay of his past—all except for one scene, a traumatic event that he has no memory of.

A visit with troubled psychiatrist Lynn Shepard proves helpful, unlocking impossible buried memories that parallel Patrick’s current case, a savage murder that has the police stumped.
